How can I cut the copper on pex pipe bands in order to restore something?
I have the pex crimping tool to replace the copper bands. the only so I know how to remove the old band is to cut with a hacksaw or grinder. there is no other solution
Since that youve got crimping tool .. bands and I assume ... you'll find it faster to cut the joint and replace it. You're more likely to work in close quarters, then I do not recommend using a grinder ... if you send a spark or hot chips in the wrong place, you might be calling the fire department. What you leave with a hacksaw ... If I had to do the repair, I just want to cut the joint and replace it ... my time is worth more than fitting. Once out from under the house ... then I could clamp in a vise, and cut with a hack saw, or saw an alternative, easily, and save the party for future use. Tip - remember to do the hardest to reach crimp first, heheh. Have Fun
