Dual air / heat HVAC system what is the cost to replace?
What could be an average cost to replace an HVAC unit that was both the air and the warmth of a 995 sq ft house? The house has all the products needed. The external unit was stolen and must be replaced. Noing nothing HVAC systems I'm trying to decide if the window a / c unit should be placed in the home and not spend tons of money to replace the unit. Thanks for the answers. I wish I could give more details about the unit, but I have yet to see the house. When interviewing or evaluating a contractor, from what has provided, I question how we determine the size of the units? There are questions that I should be sure to ask or shady methods cautious of me? Thanks again.
The information you provided is too vague and incomplete to answer accurately. Proper sizing of heating and cooling system should not be done using a square for p BTU method. I realize that this is a common method used by contractors, but usually results in a system that is more than size. This cost is more Installation money and also because the costs of administering the cycle on and off too. Think off a Ferrari in a traffic jamb. An excess of air-conditioning system size will be ineffective and may actually make you feel less comfortable if you had not cooled the room. When a CA is too large, the air is cooled rapidly on and off. A small amount of air through the cooling coil, so only a small amount of moisture has been removed from heaven. Since the temperature has fallen more than the absolute humidity, relative humidity has gone up in fact! The air in the room feels cold and clammy and the sweat is not evaporating from the body yet. This is why proper sizing of HVAC systems is so important. The size of a system should be determined by a heat loss and heat gain calculation. This can not be accomplished by anyone on this site without detailed plans of your house. What can answer is the last part of your question. I do not make the window a / c unit in house. You already have the necessary conduit in the workplace. Window units will be far less efficient than making them costly to operate. They are strong. We call them window shaker for a reason. They do not distribute the air throughout the building. They block the view from the window, to make the window useless for those beautiful days when you want to open for some fresh air. So, as long-winded answer, The best advice I can give is to replace it with exactly what was there before. Of course that is only if you are comfortable before. Do you know what went before? Maybe a guy has a record of that.
