Compressor Cylinder
I just rebuilt an oil free air compressor - need lubricant cylinder break-in?
I just rebuilt a Craftsman oil-free air compressor (model number 919.165190). I have installed a new cylinder sleeve, compression ring, and replaced a few o-ring. I'm trying to run the "break-in" procedure in the manual now (running for 15 minutes with the petcock open to relieve the pressure), but it seems that the engine is in search of work is too hard and the trip breaker. E 'turning over the compressor, and I can not do it by hand as well, but it seems the picture is a little' power supply. If I have a little 'Squirt WD-40 in cylinder, or preventing a proper break-in? Thanks I just checked the torque on the connecting rod bolt, and does not appear to be overtightened. I backed off the arrow, retorqued and still the same result. What do you think of lubrication in the cylinder during the break-in? I appreciate your input guys, but I have yet to respond to my original question. Someone know whether there is a reason that I do not use a little 'lubrication during break-in of an oil-free compressor? Thanks again
I had such a Sears compressor that not a week after the warranty ran. I thought of rebuilding, but after checking the prices for spare parts, I decided to buy a new, oil lubrication of compressor virtually the same amount of money that would cost to rebuild what I had. The oil lubrication I bought a perfectly running, less vibration and is very quiet. I learned that lesson the hard way I never buy an oil-free compressor.
