There were a lot of steel mill closings in 1990 in Chicago?
I have just witnessed an Obama, where talk of "protecting jobs" and assistance "to minorities and displaced steel workers, and I searched online for some information not available if you know could provide a link or a point reference? In the area where I grew up the impact of the steel mill closures was the mid to late 80th any help with information?
I think This shows that Obama has not organize community .. and remained in his house rather excellent most of the time. Most of the major steelworks have passed in the 1980's, but I think U.S. Steel held for a very long time. Steel workers had a good union asked that a lot of money. At the same time, the steel mills in Eastern Europe and Japan are providing tons to about half the cost by 1980. We continue to produce special steels in small plants, but the producers steel buy now comes from the lowest bidder, where ever ... including shipping. Obama would save jobs if it lowered the cost of American production, but the cost of off-shore products is much, much cheaper than the cost of American goods. I agree .. has plans to increase the cost of American production.
