Can you explain in detail how lightning works HV stop increase of tension, when there is?
Lightning arresters which are used in the HV (high Voltage) substations. Can you explain the details of its operation?
It is not complex. There is a spark gap (air) in insulation which is calculated to allow a jump in voltage that damage the equipment, and go ashore. Under normal operation, the voltage is not sufficient to pass the gap.
