Amd Dual
There is a special configuration to install a Dual Core AMD processor?
Ok, I just purchased a model 185 dual core AMD processor. The my bios on the motherboard supports dual core so that it is not a problem. Now, after I install the processor, I need to activate a special bios setting and after the boot, and I need to install Windows XP any special function to do is recognize the carrots? This is all an automatic "plug n play" operation that will do all this (as a single-core processors)? Thanks for any help.
There is but you must ensure that it is recognized as one processor dual core. However, a 185 dual core is an AMD Opteron processor. Most of the Opteron processors need some advice and the need to work with Registerred memory. We hope that the RAM and motherboard support this processor, if not then you are good to go. If you do not need to return the processor and get an Athlon X2 processor for a DualCore. Note that you can not return a processor for repayment after it is open unless it is bad, the way you read the motherboard manual. Good Luck HTH.
