I Meter
How to remove the meter form the house and putting new vinyl wall?
Are on the vinyl siding of my house. The building inspector said that I could not J-channel around the meter and the meter box shall be removed and installed on the surface of the new vinyl Anschlussgleis. It 'my understanding that there are four screws behind the meter which holds the box to the house. How do I get to those screws? This is fairly easy to do or a licensed electrician should do this or I have to call the utility compnay? I pulled a permit for the electrical system?
Both the utility and an electrician should be involved. The utility company owns the meter. The owner has taken the metro. You will need to purchase a vinyl mounting block that matches your siding.This block is mounted behind the meter socket and is the most professional and robust for its installation. If you just try to attach your meters on the track of that link one runs the risk of crimping the capture and track link. All vinyl siding needs room to expand and contraction.If this is not allowed siding will appear wavy under conditions of heat. It is illegal to do this job unpermited for good reason ... 600 volts to kill you. N. second chance.
