Data Sensor
With worldwide concern about global climate change the use of log data to control the equipment from a wide range of environmental factors such as temperature, solar radiation, rain, and water table levels is becoming increasingly widespread.
Many modern data logger models offer long operation on internal batteries coupled with multi channel universal input capability. This makes them ideal for use in a variety of environmental sensors. The data recorder according inputs necessary for these sensors are listed below:
Data Logger Temperature Sensor Inputs
The three main types of temperature sensors are thermocouples, PT100 sensors and thermistors. Thermocouples require a data logger with high resolution and cold junction compensation. Thermocouples do not require external power, making them ideal for use with data logging facilities in remote locations. Thermistors are low cost and accurate, but not so linear, the data logger needs a table inside to try to read these devices accurately. PT100 sensors are very accurate, but how many are three-wire devices at low cost data logger models are not compatible.
Data Logger input rain gauge
A rain gauge is a device shaped like a barrel with a rain collector. The collector funnel water to a tipping bucket sensor. When the bucket fills suggestions, which triggers a pulse from a switch to a cane measuring 0.2 mm of rain. A data recorder must have a pulse input to work with a rain gauge.
Data Logger Inputs for Solar Radiation Sensors
While many low-cost data logger models may work with temperature sensors and rain gauges, the voltage output of very low solar radiation sensors able to present a problem. With a typical range of 0-20 mV to represent a range of 0-2000 WM2 one needs a lot of data recorder low measuring range and high resolution to take meaningful readings.
Data Logger input sensors for water level
Water level are usually sensors types of submersible pressure sensors or ultrasonic non-contact. Since most of the pressure-based sensors require excitation depth data logger must be able to power the sensor. Many models of data loggers are five volt supply available for this type of sensor. For use with ultrasonic level sensors to the log data must be able to power a 4-20mA loop.
Data Logger Inputs for Wind Sensors
These are available with voltage, mA and serial outputs. While the majority Part of the types of log data that can handle the voltage and current inputs are just able to read the serial devices. The new generation of tools Omni data logger models support serial protocols used by the latest wind sensors.
So it can be seen that applications for environmental monitoring is important to select a data logger with multi input channel that is capable of supporting a wide range of sensor inputs
